"This is the first of the two 8-part settings of the Dixit Dominus by Durante. The 2 brass parts, in the manuscript labelled <i>Trombe / Trombe da caccia / Corni</i>, should probably be performed by (baroque) horns. <i>Violetta</i> is in this case most probably to be understood as viola. See the preface to the score for more elaborate notes on instrumentation."
