Crowned with thorns and clothed in purple, Blood has stained His face most royal; Scourged and beaten, have you no compassion? Bleeding, crying, condemned to death by Pilate. Wretched sinners, pray for mercy, Who to blame for this cruel murder? Grave sins, our sins sent Him to His Passion. Jesus, Saviour, killed upon the altar.
