"Source: manuscript Capp. Sist. 46. A long and joyful Christmas motet which, as the recording by the Brabant Ensemble has demonstrated, is very fine and benefits from being taken at a spanking pace. Towards the end, numerous falling lines in the top voice are like peals of church bells. Parts of the text are familiar from other sources, but others are not, and taken as a whole, this is very likely a unique text, which would have been difficult to decipher without the guidance provided, again, by the Brabant Ensemble. The middle line is a differently texted, and intermittent, cantus firmus."
