"The second in a series of three collections of chansons selected from previously-printed volumes. This collection was printed in February, 1536. It was revised and reissued the following year (1537), as well as being reprinted the year after that (1538) by Attaingnant and Hubert Jullet. It is not to be confused with ''Second livre contenant XXV chansons nouvelles a quatre parties (Pierre Attaingnant)'', published the same year as the original edition (1536), which contains only new works."
