"Ralph Vaughan Williams' arrangement of Friederich Spee's ''Lasst uns erfreuen (Friedrich Spee)'' (1625 version) was published first in ''The English Hymnal'' in 1906, with words by Athelstan Riley, "Ye watchers and ye holy ones". However, this tune arrangement has become much more commonly associated with the translation-paraphrase of St. Francis of Assisi by William Draper, "Altissimu, omnipotente bon Signore", first published in 1919."
