Tu di valor più che di ferro armato, Carlo seguend' in mezzo a gli osti suoi, schifasti mill' e mille morti e poi spinto qui resti in sí securo stato. Dunque di mezz' il mar chiero accorto quando più l'ond' il legn' alza e abbassa, ne'l trarrà salvo foga in porto? Duolsi del caso strano flitta e lassata, Venezia tutta e'l colpo che t'ha morto noi stessi uccide e fino al cor ne passa.
