"This volume contains chorales for the Lutheran Church year harmonized in 4 parts in choirbook format, as well as a substantial preface. It was reprinted in 1598 with the addition of three settings of psalm texts by fellow Leipziger Cornelius Becker, and then again in 1605, 1612, and 1622. In either 1605 or 1612, two Latin hymns were dropped and seven new works were added with texts by Becker and Ludwig Helmbold. Texts by Becker were also selected to replace psalm texts by Ambrosius Lobwasser published in earlier editions."
