"The first collection in Attaingnant's series of numbered books containing new four-voice chansons by French composers. This volume contains twenty-nine works and was published as one volume in January, 1536 (New Style). A new edition was printed by Attaingnant and Hubert Jullet in 1538, with fifteen works replaced by eleven new ones. This edition was reprinted in a two-volume format in 1546."
