"A cantus firmus mass based on elements of the Te Deum plainsong. The head motive in the Gloria, Credo and Agnus Dei is quoted from Aston's votive antiphon ''Te matrem Dei laudamus''. The mass is not a derived mass, but the two compositions are evidently a pair and it is thought that Aston may have submitted them when supplicating for his B.Mus degree (1510)."
