Now tramp o’er moss and fell, The batter’d ground returns the sound, While breathing Chanters proudly swell, Clan Alpine’s cry is “win or die.” Guardian Spirits of the brave! Victory o’er my hero wave. A dramatic adaptation of Sir Walter Scott’s ''Lady of the Lake.'' Clan Alpine were descendants of Scots marauders from Ulster, who settled in the Western Caledonian Highlands in the early centuries of the Christian era.
