Now wolde y fayne summer this make Al only for my lady’s sake. When y her see; But nowe y am so far fro hir It wil not be. 2. Thow y be far out of her sight, I am her man both day and nyght And so wol be. Therfore y wolde, as y love her, She lovyd me. 3. Whan she is mery than am y gladde; Whan she is sory than am y sadde And cause is whye: For he leveth not that lovyd So wel as y. 4. She seith that she hath seyn it write That ‘sel dyn seyn is sone forgeit. Yt is not so, For yn good feith save only her I love no moo. 5.
