My dear little doggy is dead, poor soul, And a wheelbarrow carted him off to a hole, What folks call a handsome old dog he was not, For an omnibus curtailed what tail he had got. He isn't all there, for the tip of his tail "In Memoriam" hangs from a brass-headed nail, And for weal or for woe, the whelp of "Old Towler" Is stuffed in a cabinet, labelled "Growler."
